There are a number of youth volunteer activities available with RAICES. They are listed below. Please complete and submit an application.
San Antonio Bus Station Program Data Entry
The San Antonio Bus Station Project provides aid, resources, and information to asylum-seeking families and individuals who arrive at the downtown San Antonio Greyhound station. As part of this project, we complete intake forms and input them into a digital database to track information about these families and individuals that is useful to understand the current state of immigrant detention and the asylum process; this includes information regarding where they’re coming from, where they may have been detained, if they’ve been separated from family members, and more. Youth volunteers can assist this program by completing inputting the intakes into our digital database. This is a biweekly activity.
Requirements: -Be a high school or college student -Complete a background check -Complete a Volunteer Orientation -Bring a laptop (preferred, but optional)
San Antonio Donation Room Organizing
Our team collects important donations to be distributed to the families and individuals that we serve in San Antonio. It is vital that we keep this donation room organized, orderly, and that we inventory the items that are in the room. Youth volunteers can assist with organizing the donations and taking inventory of items.
Requirements: -Be a middle school, high school, or college student -Complete a Volunteer Orientation.
